The one thing that just keeps getting better is computer gaming. Being that it’s a computer, you can do so much with, however it can get very expensive. I personally a true PC Gamer, believe graphics on PC look Ten times better on a computer, and for the most part like PS3 the internet is free, if you need a controller, plug one in. PC gaming is always going to be a very strong competitor. One reason is because the people that knows how to hack or download games get away with it. However, pirating is not legal, nor is it worth throwing your life a way for stealing a game. Here is the cool part about computer gaming coming this summer there’s going to be a software upgrade for PC and MAC you do not have to have a super Alienware PC. OnLive is going to be a like a little router that broadcast the game to your computer, and like I said before you do not need to have a super computer. I watched on YouTube, one of the creators form on live play Crysis low grade PC and it looked awesome and ran grate. Check this stuff out if you don’t believe me.

I have hard time understanding society’s amusement in PC or video games. I guess because they were not available when I was young. About the only games I play on the computer are card games like solitaire or free cell. Certainly, the designing and advancement in technology for all kinds of gaming has been amazing. Take the WII games, which I played for the first time during the holidays last year. These games are geared for all ages and the way you are able to play tennis or bowling, it really is like you are playing it for real.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you John, I believe as well that PC games with the newest graphic cards are way better looking then on the new game consoles that are out today. I used to be a big PC gamer, but not lately though, mainly because I think that many people are in to the other systems (ps3, xbox360, and wii) nowadays especially my friends. So I found myself more as so a ps3 gamer instead of pc. I think that many people don't understand the hardware and software of computers and they like easy right out of the box gaming. This is probably causes the biggest decline of pc gamers. And now since the online gameplay has matched the pc's it is even causing more decline in my opinion. We as a society, I guess just want everything easy, like right out of the box similar to what you get with ps3, xbox360, and wii. But I would definitely agree that PC's are definitely a lot cooler and can be a lot better then the other consoles.
ReplyDeleteI was born in the age of arcade games. Space invaders and asteroids lead to Pacman and Ms. Pacman and eventually lead to gaming at home on consoles then PC's and is starting to shift back to consoles as they (like XBOX) are essentially computers in a different casing marketed specifically to the gamer.
ReplyDeleteI tend to think Nintendo is on to something with the Wii and will be interested to see where it takes gaming in general. My experience with Wii was that I physically broke a sweat while playing some of the games because it adds the movement of the human body, beyond the finger, to play the games. While the graphics are far from the best on the market I don't believe any other gaming system, PC or otherwise, has provided that level of interaction.
While PC gaming is still popular due to the power of the PC, I believe consoles will catch up and surpass PCs over time as consoles become more powerful.
I have been a gamer since Atari and Coleco Vision. My favorite game was Mega Mania for Atari back in the 80's. Now my gaming, as with gaming in general, has upgraded to new levels. I don't game as much as some people, though I have had periods of time which I wasted every second of my free time playing World of Warcraft. I am glad to say that situation was very infrequent and is completely in the past now. My gaming now still involves World of Warcraft but I play a maximum of 4 hours a week total now. I know many people who devote more then 4 hours every single day to that game. It is a very dangerous drug indeed.
ReplyDeleteThe graphics in PC games now are amazing, along with the expandability of the games with downloadable patches and content, allowing for essentially a never ending video game to delve into and waste all of your time on.
