Ahh yes, the worlds famous Video Gaming Console back in 1972, The Atari was one of the hippest things back in the day, this bad boy put full range color making an awesome time for the viewer, but don't just think their was one version of the Atari. Their is the, Atari 5200, Atari 2600, Atari 8bit family, (which were pretty much keyboard looking things), Atari 7800 and more. As one might be able see, the Atari has hand many different looks but would like to see one that go's over the top. (portable handheld Atari) NOOOOO!!!! just let it end.
Watch out Gameboy, Atari is taken over.

ReplyDeleteHmmm, in collecting my comments to turn in I see this one was inadvertantly removed by me at some point.
ReplyDeleteI was given my first Atari console the year they arrived on the market. My parents, being the best parents in the world, gave it to me and my syblings for Christmas.
In refelecting back, I recall the games were generic and the art used in the games were very rudimentary. Trying to compare games from the orginal Atari 2600 with todays games for Xbox and PS3 and the like, is impossible.
Today's games offer far more realism in play and art. Despite this fact the Atari 2600, kept me up far later than I should have been up on school nights in my quest to flip the score board on pinball over. At the time one only needed 1,000,000 points to do so, before the score would have turn back to all 0's.
While there were consoles before the Atari 2600, this unit was in many households being played by both children and the parents of those children.
