Nintendo Wii is a home video game console released by Nintendo. The Wii is Nintendo's smallest home console to date. As of March 2010, the Wii leads other consoles such as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in worldwide sales and in December 2009 broke the record for best-selling console in a single month in the United States.
The Wii is Nintendo's fifth home console. The Wii is the direct successor to the Nintendo GameCube. A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and detects movement in three dimensions. The Wii console is also able to connect to the Internet.
The Nintendo Wii is the only video game I have ever considered looking into to purchase because it seems that you can do so much with it. I like the idea that you can be physically active while playing it, and not have to sit in front of a screen just pressing buttons. I have read that it is very popular even with senior citizens. They can play games together or alone, stay physically and mentally active, and interact with one another, or even with younger members of their families, and all of this helps them to stay mentally sharper, which is a great benefit to seniors and society as a whole.
