The future of gaming is now. The XBOX 360 device has led us into the future of entertainment the whole family can enjoy. Netflix is readily available wih a push of a button on the controller. The system will connect to Netflix and determine your video quality and within minutes you will be watching any movie you desire. The development of XBOX Live has a gamer playing someone possibly thousands of thousands of miles away or as close as next door. I am a die hard Madden Football fan. I've been a fan since 1994 and I would have never thought I would be able to play anyone online through Xbox Live! I ask myself what if there were no such thing as video games? How would I have survived as a teen being so "bored." This was also 20 years ago, before the internet was readily available.

Handheld Contraptions

Portable gaming is really cool, Gameboy and GameGear were awesome for their day; but now the PSP and the Nintendo DS rocks the stage. I have a PSP (Playstation Portable), it’s the coolest thing, the graphics are really good and the TV, speakers and controller is built in making this little gadget totally portable. Also is a great gaming system to bring to work, especially when you’re a Security Guard and your board out of your mind. The Nintendo DS is not one of my favorite systems to play games on, the graphics aren’t as good, but it’s still the same concept everything is built in, and its totally portable, the one thing I can say about the Nintendo DS is, the load times are much quicker, however ill stick with my PSP.

PC Gaming

The one thing that just keeps getting better is computer gaming. Being that it’s a computer, you can do so much with, however it can get very expensive. I personally a true PC Gamer, believe graphics on PC look Ten times better on a computer, and for the most part like PS3 the internet is free, if you need a controller, plug one in. PC gaming is always going to be a very strong competitor. One reason is because the people that knows how to hack or download games get away with it. However, pirating is not legal, nor is it worth throwing your life a way for stealing a game. Here is the cool part about computer gaming coming this summer there’s going to be a software upgrade for PC and MAC you do not have to have a super Alienware PC. OnLive is going to be a like a little router that broadcast the game to your computer, and like I said before you do not need to have a super computer. I watched on YouTube, one of the creators form on live play Crysis low grade PC and it looked awesome and ran grate. Check this stuff out if you don’t believe me.

Playing Pong with The Blink of an Eye:

on March 26, 2010, an article was released containing the information about some college students from Imperial College in London, who are currently working on a new way to play games. These students have adapted the game 'Pong' and as the bat hits the ball that bounces around the screen, they have cordinated it to happen using the movements of your eye. " To play the game, the user uses glasses containing infrared light and a camera that records the movement of your eye. The webcam is linked to a laptop where a computer program that syncs the players eye movements to the game. This type of technology is low in cost. This will allow people with severe disabilities that could have never played typical video games, be a "gamer" now!

It's Time To Rock Your Socks Off!

Rock Band essentially picks up where guitar hero leaves off. It uses the same style of guitar used in guitar hero but also has devices that are used to play the bass guitar, and drums parts to songs as well as sing through a microphone. Rock Band allows up to four players to simulate the performance of popular rock music songs by playing with controllers modeled after musical instruments. Players are scored on their ability to match scrolling musical notes while playing instruments, or by their ability to match the singer's pitch on vocals.

Players with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions can interact through both online and offline multiplayer capabilities. In addition to the 58 core songs included on the game disc, over 1000 downloadable songs have been released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii versions, with more added each week.

No Stairway To Heaven

Guitar Hero is a video game that uses a guitar-shaped device to simulate the playing of lead, bass guitar and rhythm guitar across numerous rock music songs. Players match notes that scroll on-screen to the colored fret buttons on the controller, strumming the controller in time to the music in order to score points, and keep the virtual audience excited. The game initially used mostly cover version of songs, but most recent titles feature soundtracks that are fully master recordings, and in some cases, special re-recordings, of the songs.

The game currently has seven major releases and four expansions on gaming consoles, and with spinoffs for Windows and Macintosh systems, mobile phones, the Nintendo DS, and an arcade game, with several more titles announced for future release. The Guitar Hero franchise has become a cultural phenomenon and has impacted both the video game and the modern music industry. The first game in the series was considered by several journalists to be one of the most influential video games of the first decade of the 21st century.

Cell Phone Gaming

Cell phones, in todays society, are status symbols. The cell phones that "do it all" and have apps for just about anything you can think of-are a must have! Cell phones have had games already loaded into them for a while ( starting back when Snake was pre-installed into the 1997 Nokia phone) now but only recently in the past few years have you been able to play games that only seemed possible to play on your XBox or PlayStation. The iPhone for example has handheld racing games that steer the car as you turn your phone the direction you want the car to go... or how they made it possible to play Guitar Hero through your phone as you press the chords via screen/buttons... the phones with internet access can download any game made available on the internet. Its amazing how games, that used be be only for video game consels or home PC, are now able to be played by taking out a small gadget from your pocket at any time, any place. Some games, if played by someone with the same phone can become multiplayer and play at thee same time. Other phones that are touch screen allow two people to play at once, the phone can be laid flat and the opposite ends and the screen slits allowing each person to play half screen. Gaming is continually expanding, but the asspect of gaming through your cell phone is very interesting to me.

PlayStation 3 - "It Does Everything."

This newest version of PlayStation has a built in Wi-Fi, so that you can connect to 1000's of gamers across the country. It has a ridiculous amount of storage, able to hold music, pictures, storage for games, add-ons and so on. It plays Blu-rays in 1080p HD "the way they were meant to be seen". It also has its own PlayStation Store that sells anything for your electronical needs, even a streaming NetFlix srevice, this way you can download hundreds of games and movies right to your console without ever leaving your home.

Nintendo Wii

Nintendo Wii is a home video game console released by Nintendo. The Wii is Nintendo's smallest home console to date. As of March 2010, the Wii leads other consoles such as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in worldwide sales and in December 2009 broke the record for best-selling console in a single month in the United States.

The Wii is Nintendo's fifth home console. The Wii is the direct successor to the Nintendo GameCube. A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and detects movement in three dimensions. The Wii console is also able to connect to the Internet.

Ahh yes, the worlds famous Video Gaming Console back in 1972, The Atari was one of the hippest things back in the day, this bad boy put full range color making an awesome time for the viewer, but don't just think their was one version of the Atari. Their is the, Atari 5200, Atari 2600, Atari 8bit family, (which were pretty much keyboard looking things), Atari 7800 and more. As one might be able see, the Atari has hand many different looks but would like to see one that go's over the top. (portable handheld Atari) NOOOOO!!!! just let it end.

Blast from the Past

I own the Nintendo Wii Console. Don't you know, you can download any original Nintendo game onto the Wii. This download will have original graphics, original sound, and original controls to play the game. It's amazing how video games from years and years ago, have survived all this time. Those games were simple in graphics, and simple in controls. We have prided ourselves with graphics in new games as being so "realistic" . Well, with the original Nintendo, the graphic support was 8 bit. I'm good at math, but I couldn't tell you how many bits are the graphics in the newer consoles, because I'm sure there are a more complex scale of graphics involved.

Super Nintendo vs. Sega Genesis

Both Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis were released in North America in 1991. Nintendo’s original entertainment system was very successful in North America, and Super Nintendo was set to pick up where the original Nintendo left off.

Where Nintendo had Mario as a mascot, Sega had Sonic the hedge hog. With his hip attitude and quickness, he was marketed to seem "cooler" than Mario. This led to a wider success for the Genesis and would eventually propel Sega to 65% of the market in North America.

But that’s was only for a brief time. With strong market competition from Sony’s Playstation and Nintendo, Sega no longer makes consoles. Sega is still around, but today they focus all of their resources on gaming.

Ultimately Nintendo won.

The console for PlayStation 2 was in development way before the idea was released in April 99, it was released in Japan in September of 99.

The original concept of the console is kind of funny looking, making the PS2 as we know it much more sleek and "Fresh" looking..

PS2, "handeling millions of poloygons per second", made the graphics much more life- like then its original.

This console was unique in the sense that not only could it play games but it could also play your CD's for you as well as DVDs. It even played games that could only be played on the PS1. Since this console had so many inprovements internally, it often showed imporvements on the old games that you played in your new console.

Playstation 2 is the best selling console to date having reached 140 million sold by Sept 30 2009.
