  1. This is a really cool blog post. It’s interesting to see the differences from board games, to plastic pieces we throw, to an entire machine that we would use to play a game! These pictures clearly show how the advancements have truly changed. Back when kids would throw rocks and sticks to darks! The science advancements of developing these new games over time have allowed society to be more interactive. Looking at the different colors and patterns it took to make the monopoly game bright and cheery or the video game pictures make you want to almost be there! It’s fascinating how these different games have even brought in so much more money by adding more pictures, more games to play or a disk that holds a whole other world.

  2. It’s fascinating to see how the gaming industry has advanced within the past 20 years. Viewing this picture timeline one is able to see how technology has progressed and replaced older forms of entertainment like marbles, board games, yoyo’s and paddles on to arcade games and then replaced by console machines like the Nintendo. I remember when I was younger and had the Nintendo with the big boxy games; it’s funny how the newer generations of kids do not know the origins of the consoles like the original Nintendo or the Nintendo 64. They’re enjoying the advances of technology with smaller and faster gadgets like the Nintendo D.S. GameBoy and Wi, etc. The advancement to electronic console games has had a ripple effect in the sciences, arts, and with society. Technology allowed software and gaming engineers to produce smaller machines with higher picture and sound quality; graphic artist were able to show their creativity in the visuals and music they provided for the games; and as a society we were enthralled with the new “addictive” form of entertainment awaiting for what the future held.

  3. What a difference evolution can bring. Culturally, it is amazing to see what society of the past used to pass their time. The art of the games wasn't as complicated; it made people to be more socially active with one another. Most of the games looks like the inventors was thinking about the society as a unit. People had fun playing those games because most of them involved others. As one looked at the pictures of the games, the one thing that comes to mind is the size of some of the games. It is amazing to see how some of the sizes has moved from larger to smaller and from less complicated to more compilcated.
